.) As soon as a test is announced in class you should review your notes.  Are they complete?  Are you missing any handouts or notes?  If you are missing notes, you will need to get them from a classmate.  Do not wait!  Get them as soon as possible. If you are missing a handout, consult the handouts button on this site or see your teacher.

.) Begin studying early and do a little each night.  Be sure to begin reviewing the key terms.  You should know their definitions and be able to explain key concepts.

.) On the night before the exam, get a good nights sleep.  Be sure to eat breakfast the day of the exam.

.) When you get to the exam take a deep breath.  Read each question carefully.  Make sure you know what the question is asking.

.) When taking a true/false or multiple choice exam never leave a question blank.  Leaving a question blank is an automatic zero but if you take an educated guess you at least have a chance of earning some credit.

.) When answering true/false questions, keep in mind that questions with "always," "every" and "never" are usually false.

.) When answering a multiple choice question, read each answer choice carefully.  You can usually eliminate 2 incorrect or absurd choices right off the bat.  Then carefully evaluate the remaining choices and make your choice.

.) Never erase an answer unless you are firmly convinced that you made an error.  Your first choices are generally right.

.) When answering essay questions it is imperative that you reread your answers.  Did you answer the question asked or did you go off on a tangent that has nothing to do with the original question?  Is your essay clearly and concisely written?  Will the reader know, after reading your essay, that you knew what you were talking about?  Does your essay contain correctly spelled words? Did you use proper grammar?

.) Once you have completed the exam, go back over it.  Be sure you answered each question.  All true/false and multiple choice should be blackened or circled.  All essay questions should be answered to the best of your ability.  Remember a blank page will never  earn any credit.
