 Child Development Classes

Just some useful information as it relates to Child Development:

• Child experts agree it is impossible to spoil an infant by picking him or her up.  When a child cries and is quieted by being picked, doing so reassures him or her that you will be there for them.  It helps to establish trust.  Once established this trust will facilitate future relationships.

•     In parenting, consistency, is one of the hardest but one of the more necessary components in order to be successful.  In short mean what you say and say what you mean.  Stick to your guns, NO means NO.  If you give in, even once, all of a sudden no becomes maybe if you cry loud and long enough or embarrass me by having a temper tantrum.

•     All children secretly crave limits.  Although they will fight you on them, having the limit translates to them that you care.

•     The average age of new parents is increasing.  It is currently 27 for women and 29 for men.
